An incredible revolution for mums needing to please their children, for every age
I’m a mother of three, from thirteen to eighteen years old, and – no shame for what I’m saying – in this world that spins and spins around, I almost feel like a survivor.
Having to manage work, home and children and everything that is related to their life, such as school, sports, trips and other amenities, forces me to be active on a continuous cycle, from Monday to Sunday.
There’s almost no time to rest for me, nor vacations on a beach chair. There are, instead of this, many moments made of anxiety – anxiety of not making it, not doing things well or not doing enough – and the feeling that I’ve forgotten bits of life along the way.
Giving attention to my children, especially about following their growth and chasing the evolution that will bring them to be happy adults, is certainly one of the most important tasks I feel invested with as a parent.
A truly challenging task, both because each of my children has their own characteristics – unique and unrepeatable – and because they are in that delicate phase of adolescence when it’s basically impossible to satisfy them!
I’ll give you a brief description, to better understand:
Elia, 18 years old, is a handsome boy with green eyes, a lover of good life and food – it’s no coincidence he’s studying to become a chef – a loyal friend and boyfriend, maybe a little insecure, with that touch of a “know-it-all” that get on your nerves as soon as you cross the threshold. Needless to say, he’s a “grown” little man and will hopefully find his way soon!
Dora, 16 years old, is a stunning brunette with doe-like brown eyes and long eyelashes. You might see her with a beautiful smile on her face, but, as for her personality… save yourself! She’s anything but gentle – just think about Fiona, the famous wife of Shrek – but she’s a sunny girl, stubborn, a bit rebellious and with a big heart. She loves her friends more than schoolbooks so she wouldn’t miss going out with them for anything in the world!
Noah, 13 years old, has green eyes under an explosion of hair (and hormones) that he won’t cut. He’s the classic skinny boy with sculpted abs who doesn’t need to do anything the others do – like strict diets or gym – to be the way he is. Noah is still a bit of a mama’s boy, and I don’t mind the tenderness he sometimes reserves for me. He is definitely a creative with great logical-mathematical skills: the perfect mix for heaven or hell!
Faced with these three gorgeous human beings I recently found myself thinking what would be the right gift to give each one of them. I immediately thought about jewels and, precisely, three custom made bracelets.
Then, I made a list of the features I wanted:
First thing first: the keywords had to be “made in Italy”. Companies that work with a touch of craftmanship: a very Italian specialty.
Second: a unique and different message for each of my children, with that “something” that reflected their way of being.
Third: adjustable and increasable size, to keep up with their growth.
Fourth: hypoallergenic material (all three of them do not tolerate certain metals), resistant to use and that won’t be ruined (or oxidize) with time.
Fifth: as I said above, I wanted something beautiful and precious, but without emptying my wallet!
When I set out to search I wasn’t sure if anything would fit this description but, after a while, the web suggested me the jewels of the Composable line that, straight away, met most of my wishes!
In fact, it was with great pleasure that I discovered that Composable is a line that allows you to create customized bracelets, thanks to the steel links – embellished, as desired, with gold and silver, glaze and semi-precious stones, letters or symbols and engravings too – which, joined together with a spring mechanism, allow you to compose a unique piece of jewellery, perfectly suitable for everyone and for all budgets.
Then, when I discovered that this company – Nomination – is 100% Italian, I had no more doubts: I was exactly where I wanted to be!
Here’s what I chose for my three children:
For Elia: I chose, as a base, the Composable Glam bracelet, in steel with a symbol in double black carbon. A jewel with a rather masculine and strong design, that I lightened with two ironic notes: a card (also called “link”) with Leo zodiac sign and one with the design of a Chef.
For Dora: I chose a classic base, embellished with a link with a Mother-Daughter knot symbol, in steel and rose gold. I also added a card with the zodiac sign of Sagittarius and a double link in steel and yellow gold, with the words “Do what you love”.
For Noah: I was still convinced by the base of the Composable Glam bracelet, but, this time, the double symbol is in grey carbon. To respond, then, to the “creative part”, I added a link with the zodiac sign of Cancer. And, at last, to thank him for the tenderness he has for me, I added a double steel link with an engraving of his name.
I must say that composing the Composable custom bracelets for my children has given me great satisfaction, both because the choice is wide and it is really possible to meet everyone’s taste, and because you can modulate the cost according to your possibilities, still managing to create a precious object with an important message that speaks to the heart of those who receive it.
Do you want to know how my children reacted?
For the very first time, I managed to surprise them. And when they realized that the links could be replaced at will and even exchanged between friends they affirmed that this was the best gift they had ever received from their mom.
A heartfelt thank you to Composable custom bracelets, Nomination and its founder Paolo Gensini who not only democratized, revolutionized and embellished the jewellery industry, but helped me earn a lot of points as a mother!
